Amy Sampson is Pastry Chef at mk the restaurant (868 N. Franklin Ave., Chicago) and admirably continues in the line of talented pastry chefs to come through mk.
From September 2006 –October 2007, Sampson was pastry chef at ‘NOVE Italiano’ in the Palms Casino, Las Vegas.
In fact, this is her second tour at mk (July 2005 – June 2006).
Restaurateurs can expect simple, playful desserts where the quality of a few flavors will be featured using different techniques. One example is Sampson’s vanilla panna cotta with vanilla-honey roasted figs and honey almond biscotti.
She loves finding inspiration flipping through pages of well-designed magazines, web searches and reading a variety of cook books (In The Sweet Kitchen by Regan Daley being one of her favorites).
Sampson is a proud graduate of London’s Le Cordon Bleu (March 2005) and the University of Missouri’s school of journalism (August 2001).
